Study of Expansion Chamber Muffler Characteristics using Pink and White Noise Sources

The primary objective of the study is to compare insertion loss in an expansion chamber muffler using white and pink noise. White noise has equal power per hertz over entire range frequencies, while decreases with increasing frequency. Nonetheless, as width successive octaves increases, renders octave. sound pressure level at output port recorded acoustic analyzer, maintaining a constant input for corresponding source. Radon Soft, V1.21, been used response three different mufflers varying lengths cross-sections investigated loss, bandwidth, dissipation: M_1 m = 4.78 (constant length), M_2 7.27 (variable M_3 12.14 length). experimentally obtained nature are compared theoretical estimates transmission loss.
